Bio

Javier Castro Jr. joined the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety his second year attending UC Davis. Having grown up in a first generation Mexican household, Javier’s interest in science and health were fueled by his desire to help the underserved. After graduating with a major in Neurobiology, Physiology and Psychology, Javier became the field supervisor for California Heat Illness Prevention Study (CHIPS). With his extensive experience working with Clínica Tepati, a student run clinic for UC Davis Medical Center, Javier is able to assist in field data collection and analysis of the data. Javier strives in continuing helping the underserved. He also enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his dog.
